Cineric is the
industry's leading film restoration and preservation facility. We implement
both traditional photochemical techniques and the latest digital technology
in our efforts to restore and preserve moving images.
At Cineric technical innovation and quality craftsmanship go hand in hand.
We have recently competed the
full 4K Digital restorations of “Dr Strangelove”, “Carousel”, “The
Gangs All Here” and "Bottom of the Bottle", with many more titles in the works. Our digital
facility is expanding, with two Discreet Lustre suites for up to 4K file color correction
and dye fading correction.
We can then
output the
files on our Arri Laser film
recorder to color intermediate stock or separation masters. This system can also provide a
down-converted HD version of your show for video mastering. We have also
added 5 DaVinci
Revival stations for correcting flicker, scratches and registration problems
and cleaning up dirt, as well as a data center to accommodate up to 380 terabytes
of files .
Our photochemical restoration
department is still going strong making separation masters, developing
printing equipment to deal with unusual formats and utilizing our adjustable
wetgate optical printers to pin register the most shrunken film. These
gates also fit on our Oxberry scanner, which means we can scan all of the
formats
we can handle optically to 4K files, using a liquid gate. These formats include regular 8,
S8mm, 16mm, S16, Techniscope, 3-perf, 35mm, VistaVision, and 65mm 5-perf. Our
recent restoration
of the 55mm 8perf original
camera negative of "The King and I” employed both analog and digital
tools.
